Would John Williams Score A Webcomic?

9/27/2007

When “Man of Steal” came out, one my friends had the most oddly specific complaint.

“Yeah, it was cool.  I just hated the theme song.”

“It wasn’t the John Williams theme, but I really like the song, especially for an origin story.

“It’s a good song, but it never says ‘Superman’ in it.  All good Superman themes have a point where the music hits three beats in a row where you naturally sing out ‘Superman’ and that never happened in the Hans Zimmer song.

I totally dismissed him, until a week later when I looked up all the Superman themes. He was totally right.”

I  have to point out that Hans Zimmer's Man of Steal theme is great.  Instead of the call to action it has a solemn tone.  It sounds like a man learning to fly.  I think it's the best part of that movie.
